Brain to Heart – Balancing Fear and Joy

January 7th, 2016 by

In my Baseline Human Emotion series I spoke about the baseline emotion of the brain being fear and the baseline emotion of the heart being joy. I wrote how important it is to acknowledge both as equals and unify them so that their opposite natures refine into complementary energies rather than conflicting ones that bring nothing more than personal imbalance.

Below is a visualization that I find to be helpful in unifying the fear of the brain and the joy of the heart. This is one I came up with myself and find to be quite helpful. You will have to be your own judge as to whether or not it fits with your personal energy.

Brain to Heart – Balancing Fear and Joy

  • Start in a comfortable place, preferably sitting or standing
  • Wear loose comfortable clothing, nothing binding
  • (eventually you can do this anywhere at any time)
  • Close your eyes
    • Breathe slowly and deeply through the nose – do not force it
    • Focus on the breath filling every cell of your body – do not hold the breath
    • Exhale smoothly out your mouth
    • (the whole breath in and out should be unbroken, smooth like spinning silk)

With every inhale focus on breathing in life and with every exhale focus on breathing out tension. Breathe yourself into a state of relaxation, as best as you can. With practice this will slow and calm your heart beat and ease your brain energy.

  • Focus on the balls of your feet
  • Feel them and their connection to whatever they are touching
  • Focus on a brown energy around the feet to help with placing you in the moment
    • Feel the weight of your body and its position
    • Feel the air around you
    • Feel the temperature on your skin
    • Feel the textures of anything touching you
    • Be completely in the moment, fully aware of your body and awareness, Be Now

Remember the only grounding it the absolute presence of the Now, the Moment and the focus upon it.

  • Focus on the root center and notice its color, then picture pale red
  • Focus on the hara center and notice its color, then picture pale to medium orange
  • Focus on the solar plexus center and note its color, then picture medium yellow
  • Focus on the heart center and notice its color
  • Focus on the throat center and notice its color, then picture ice blue
  • Focus on the pineal center and note its color
  • Focus on the crown and note its color, then picture violet

Return to the pineal center and see once again the color. It may or may not be royal blue. Just note the color you see, not what you think or want the color to be, just what you neutrally observe.

Now move your awareness down to your heart center and once again note the color you see there, not what you think or want the color to be, just what you neutrally observe.

  • Visualize medium green all around you
  • Become fully aware of it
    • Feel it
    • Smell it
    • Taste it
    • Hear it
  • Make it real to your senses with your mind
  • Visualize the medium green weaving a beautiful and sturdy basket from the plant kingdom
    • (picture the energy of the plant kingdom materializing in the medium green and weaving a lovely basket)
  • Visualize a cool fire burning under the basket, keeping it safe and filled with life, like the light of sun
  • With care and love place your medium red heart in this basket of life to unify the core emotion of joy

Ideally if you know your plant ally and element ally you would use specifically their energies in the weaving of the basket, but if you do not then using the above visualization also works well. For instance you might use the energy and visualization of dandelion and water to melt together in the weaving of the basket. You may know more than one of your plant allies and then utilize all of them to weave the basket in conjunction with your personal element make-up. But fire must go under the basket no matter what elements you use to weave the basket.

  • Move your conscious awareness up to your pineal center
  • Visualize royal blue all around you
  • Become fully aware of it
    • Feel it
    • Smell it
    • Taste it
    • Hear it
  • Make it real to your senses with your mind
  • Visualize the royal blue weaving a beautiful and sturdy basket from the spiritual universe
    • (picture the energy of the spiritual universe materializing in the royal blue and weaving a lovely basket)
  • Visualize a nest of starlight spinning under the basket, keeping it safe and filled with potential like the great expanse of the spiritual universe
  • With care and respect for the survival instinct place your royal blue brain, the seat of self perception in this basket of life to unify the core emotion of survival fear (this fear is safe and balanced in this basket)

You have brought individual balance to both the heart-joy and brain- survival fear. Now it is time to connect them so they may work as one to balance each other.

  • From the spinning starlight under the royal blue basket attach a golden cord woven from the energy of your Manetuwak and the Great Spirit, the All
  • Like spun silk allow it to slowly extend downward to your heart center
  • Guide this golden cord down to your heart basket
  • Place this lower end of the golden cord in the cool burning fires of life under your heart basket
  • Watch as the both the fires of the heart and the starlight of the pineal region pulse with each other’s energy through this golden cord of unity
  • Focus on the feelings of the balls of your feet once again
  • Focus on the brown, the earth, your senses
  • Return to your full waking awareness
  • Breathe slow and deeply, exhaling evenly 3 times
  • Open your eyes

After you get the hang of it and do it a few times you should begin to feel a sense of calm where both survival fear and heart joy are accepted, honored and felt to be balancing one another. In time you should get to a level where if you begin to feel either moving into an imbalance you can instantly visualize this dual basket creation linking as one and feel the results quickly. Your brain and heart by that time will know the process and so the need to focus slowly on each detail of the process becomes tediously unnecessary. You will know it, know how it works and know what it feels like. The very thought of the intention will make it happen upon your willing it.

Give it a try and feel it. See what you think and feel. Do it a number of times before judging it within yourself. It is all taking place inside you. You never leave your body. At no time are you opening holes to other dimensions or other such craziness. It is you, all you, inside you, safely and fully under your control.
